Playoff Week 1 Recap: Upset Tuesday, Solo Missions, and Birdies vs. Snowmen! 🦆⛳
Playoff golf hits differently! Week 1 of the postseason delivered absolute madness across both brackets, featuring major upsets, heroic solo performances, and a few teams who dominated so hard their opponents didn't even show up.
Here is how the first round of playoff drama unfolded on the fairways and back at the 19th hole:

🚨 Giant Killers: In a massive Flight 1 shocker, the #1 seed Joel & David were dethroned in an absolute thriller by the #7 seed, Sandy Balls!

🚨 Bomber Battle: The #2 seed BRIX Bombers got a taste of their own medicine, falling to the red-hot 9th Hole Bombers in another big #7-seed upset! It was a tough coaching decision for Jay to healthy scratch Matt for the night, but it payed off !

⛳ Sheena’s Show:Sheena showed up on a mission, putting the team on her back and ball-striking her crew right past team Joe & Schmo.

🏌️‍♂️ One-Man Army:Terry & Allan made quick work of their match, though huge respect goes to Mitch, who battled valiantly all on his own as a solo squad.

👻 Scared Away:The Happy Hitters and team Don & Dave struck so much fear into their opponents' hearts that neither team even showed up to tee off! (Not that it would have mattered—both teams carded absurdly good rounds anyway). Staff reported seeeing Danny hiding in the back of the proshop so he didnt have to face the scorecard abuse!

🦸‍♂️ Team Kerr & Wood... or Just Kerr!? With his partner out, Mike Kerr went full superhero mode, taking care of business and securing the match victory all by himself! At what point do we consider filing a missing persons report for James?

🏥 Capitalizing on Injury:Mike & Ali played steady golf to defeat the injury-plagued Baird/Neysmith squad.
Individual Leaderboard & Draw Prizes 🏆💣⛄
Outside of the team battles, a few individuals lit up the scorecard and walked away with some fantastic gear:

🥇 Low Gross Individual:Terry Soucy did what Terry does, firing a brilliant 36 to take top gross honors once again.

🥈 Low Net Individual:David Lamb put together a masterclass in handicap management, burning up the front nine for a net 33! He then walked off the 9th green and straight onto a private jet to join the International team at the Presidents Cup!
Birdies & Snowmen Draws: We celebrated both the heroic highs and the painful lows this week!
Everyone who carded a Birdie was entered into a draw (won by Don Teece), while those who carded the dreaded Snowman (8) got their own shot at redemption (won by Joe Clarke). Both Don and Joe walked away with a dozen Srixon Golf Balls and a custom Gleneagles Headcover!
The Big Duck Winner 🦆🏌️‍♂️
When it came time for the main event at the 19th hole, the water was churning for the duck race. Floating past the competition to claim the top prize of the night was Allan Haigh, whose lightning fast duck scored him a brand-new Ping G440 3-Wood!
